To complete the routine operational task, a written document containing step- by –step instructions is used. Such document is called as “Standard Operating procedure (SOP). In order to achieve the “efficiency”, “uniform performance”, “quality control”, and “regulatory compliance”, SOPs is used by various organizations. It also helps in communicating the team members. Both business owners and employees are involved in the SOP.

SOPs are of two types:

  1. Technical SOPs
  2. Management SOPs

SOPs which stress and emphasis on how other SOPs are “created”, “updated”, “distributed” and “overseen”, such SOPs is called as Management SOPs.
