To complete the routine operational task, a written document containing step- by –step instructions is used. Such document is called as “Standard Operating procedure (SOP). In order to achieve the “efficiency”, “uniform performance”, “quality control”, and “regulatory compliance”, SOPs is used by various organizations. It also helps in communicating the team members. Both business owners and employees are involved in the SOP.

SOPs are of two types:

  1. Technical SOPs
  2. Management SOPs

SOPs which stress and emphasis on how other SOPs are “created”, “updated”, “distributed” and “overseen”, such SOPs is called as Management SOPs. In order to manage the SOPs, companies require other SOPs. Management SOPs trace the action and operation to describe the document and execute standard operating procedures. A lot of time is been consumed while creating management SOP but with respect to this much time is saved in future times. For the smooth and sleek work function, it is very essential to have rules and guidelines in place. It is also a perquisite that within the time frame, employee function their duties and tasks which have been allotted to them.
